ENERMAX Announces Strategic Expansion Into HVDC Power Infrastructure

ENERMAX Announces Strategic Expansion Into HVDC Power Infrastructure

Taipei, Taiwan, May 21st, 2026 – Taipei, Taiwan — ENERMAX, an industry-leading force dedicated to designing high-performance computer hardware and cooling solutions, is officially announcing its entry into delivering a more efficient, holistic power approach built around High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC). With burgeoning artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC) driving unprecedented growth in data center component demand, power infrastructure is rapidly becoming one of the industry’s biggest bottlenecks. Rising energy consumption is also pushing data center operators away from traditional multi-stage AC power architectures.

Positioning itself within the next generation of AI data center infrastructure, the company will be showcasing its latest HVDC solutions at COMPUTEX Taipei 2026. Leveraging its 36 years of experience in the PC industry, ENERMAX will be highlighting its foray into the AI data center industry.

Industry momentum behind HVDC has accelerated significantly in recent years as AI clusters demand greater efficiency, scalability, and deployment flexibility. Compared to conventional AC-based systems, HVDC architectures reducing the amount of power conversion stages, improve overall energy efficiency, and simplify infrastructure complexity — all of which are increasingly seen as essential for hyperscaling AI environments.

Long known for its PC power supplies and cooling products, ENERMAX said its move into HVDC represents a natural extension of decades of experience in power conversion and thermal engineering. Founded in 1990, the company established its foundation in consumer and industrial PC power markets before now expanding into higher-power server applications.

According to the company, the transition into server-grade CRPS (Common Redundant Power Supply) platforms provided a key stepping stone toward larger-scale data center power development, helping build expertise in high-density power delivery and system reliability surpassing what was needed for traditional PC power supply units.

In response to the greater PC industry shifting its focus beyond individual server power supplies to a more rack and system-level power management, ENERMAX has expanded development solutions to include Power Shelf and Sidecar architectures, bridging the gap between traditional server power systems and full-scale data center power integration.

The company said its HVDC strategy will encompass the broader power chain, spanning grid-side input, rack-level distribution, and server-side applications, with the goal of supporting more efficient and reliable AI data center deployments.

“Power infrastructure is becoming the defining technology of the AI era,” the company stated. “As AI computing continues to scale exponentially, the role of power infrastructure also needs to evolve from a being a supporting component and become an unmistakeably core part of data center architecture.”

Moving forward, ENERMAX said it will continue investing in HVDC technologies and data center power infrastructure development as it expands beyond its traditional role as a power supply manufacturer toward becoming an integrated provider of AI data center power solutions.
